Council introduces updates to Avon water and sewer codes; more detail expected next meeting

On Feb. 9, Avon City Council held the first of three readings for Ordinance No. 9-26, which would amend Chapters 210, 1040 and 1042 of the Codified Ordinances to update water and sewer rules and adjust certain rates and fees. The Clerk read the ordinance by title and the Chair declared it a first reading; no vote on adoption occurred.
Finance Director Steve Presley told council that Mr. Bruce had previously circulated supporting information to members and would be available at the next meeting to answer questions, either in person or remotely. Council did not take action on rates at this meeting; additional details and possible adjustments are expected during upcoming discussions and reviews.
