Parks staff report updates; board approves funding and schedules next meeting

At its Feb. 26 meeting, the Alliance City Board of Park Commissioners received routine staff reports from parks staff and entered each into the minutes.
Chris Zufall presented reports on Silver Park, Butler Rodman and cemetery matters and an athletic-fields update; Niki McIlvain presented marketing and recreation programming; Kim Cox presented general administration. The board also reviewed the expense spreadsheet covering Jan. 1 to Feb. 26, 2026. No travel requests, hires, or other business were reported.
The board approved a combined motion to accept three funding proposals (Klusch Family Foundation $250,000; an ODNR grant application for $500,000 in two phases; and the Aultman Foundation $75,000). The motion was moved by Commissioner Jennifer Mastroianni and seconded by Commissioner Esther Whiteleather; roll call was unanimous and the motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 3:37 p.m., and the next regular meeting is scheduled for March 26, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. at the Silver Park Office.
