Crowley High alum Skodrick Haines honored for statewide music awards, headed to Baylor

Trustees honored Crowley High School alumnus and recent graduate Skodrick Haines for outstanding statewide music achievements and presented him to the board.
"Skodrick has consistently demonstrated exceptional music skills, leadership, and commitment to excellence," Mr. Kershner said while introducing Haines, who made TMEA All-Region, TMEA All-State Band and earned Division I ratings at UIL State Ensemble and Solo competitions. The board recognized Haines' accomplishments and invited him to perform a short solo for the meeting. Trustees congratulated him and wished him success at Baylor University, where Haines will study music education on a full scholarship.
Band director Chris Dunning was also introduced; the board encouraged Haines to return and consider teaching in Crowley ISD in the future.
