Crowley ISD will hold employee pay increases until audited 2025-26 results are final
Summary
District leaders recommended approving the 2026-27 budget while postponing any compensation increases until the district receives audited 2025-26 financials (expected Oct–Nov), allowing the board to revisit pay once audited figures and enrollment/voucher impacts are known.

Senior administrators told the board they recommend adopting the 2026-27 budget but pausing raises or pay adjustments until the district's 2025-26 audit is complete.
"What we're recommending is that right now, that we would like to hold the employee compensation cost to the 25 26 ... allow us the opportunity to evaluate the final audited figures that will come out around October, November, then revisit the possible employee compensation," Dr. Malcolm McFarland said. He said the administration would return to the board with models if audited results and enrollment figures support adjustments.
Mr. Fisher and Dr. McFarland explained the mechanics: the board would set a target fund balance first; if audited results and enrollment (including voucher impacts) show the district meets the stability threshold, the board could direct staff to develop compensation proposals for consideration later in the year. Trustees pressed for details on implementation (proration, effective dates and potential back pay) and were told those specifics would come back with any compensation proposal.
