The Lewistown City Commission authorized the purchase of a V-plow with mechanical down-force capability for the Street Department's three-quarter-ton truck and capped spending at $17,000 to allow for shipping, tariffs and incidental costs.
City Manager Holly Phelps said the superintendent of public works obtained two bids from a local vendor; the more expensive model included mechanical down pressure, which staff said is important for scraping to bare asphalt. Commissioner Buehler moved to approve the purchase "not to exceed $17,000" and the motion passed unanimously.
