Council okays advertising for bids on downtown alley resurfacing

On Feb. 3, 2026, Steubenville City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2026-5 on third reading to authorize advertising for bids for the 2026 Downtown Alley Resurfacing Improvements (City Project No. 2025-138).
Mayor Petrella opened the final reading; there were no public speakers. Councilmember Walker called the question and the ordinance passed on a unanimous roll-call vote. The ordinance authorizes the City Manager to solicit competitive bids, reject any and all bids if necessary and execute contracts with the lowest and most qualified bidder.
The minutes record the ordinance will take effect March 5, 2026. Contract award and funding details will be provided after the procurement and review of bids.
