The Dell Rapids City Council approved a special on-sale liquor license so Norby's may serve alcohol at the Pink Ladies Car Show in City Park on Sept. 20 from noon to 5 p.m.
Staff explained the application and the city’s practice of holding a public hearing for special licenses. "Norby's has applied for special on sale liquor license with City of Del Rapids to operate during that time at City Park," staff said during the hearing. After staff recommended approval, council members moved and seconded the license and carried the motion by voice vote.
The staff packet included standard language from prior special-license approvals; the presenter asked the council to follow the city standard and approve the license. No public objections were recorded during the hearing.
