Board awards Ohatchee High School gym bid to Bradshaw and Pitts LLC

The board voted to award the construction contract for work at Ohatchee High School's gym to Bradshaw and Pitts LLC. Superintendent Willis described the project as renovating or adding to the front lobby area and installing bleachers on the second side of the gym.
Willis said bids were opened recently and the recommended low bidder came in "a little bit higher than we had budgeted, but I still feel like that's within the scope of, something we wanna do." The board moved, seconded and approved the bid award by voice vote.
The board did not request additional budget action in the meeting minutes, but Willis indicated capital outlay pay applications would begin once work started and staff would process pay applications as they were received.
