Nord Sondheimer, representing the Avon 250 Coordinating Committee, told the Council the committee plans to appear before the Council periodically with updates, and described broad community interest—more than 40 organizations participated in a public meeting and over 50 ideas have been collected. He said the group is working with Recreation and Parks and the Avon Free Public Library on events and outreach.
Sondheimer encouraged Council participation in upcoming meetings and noted a logo contest with a May 1 deadline and an exhibit opening at the library on March 8 at 12:00 p.m. He said the committee hopes to stage a kickoff during the July 4, 2025 weekend when the Avon History Museum opens and mentioned a planned pet parade among early ideas.
