Marina Teney, the district's director of capital projects, presented schematic designs for the Tehaleh Heights Elementary expansion and described design decisions intended to make the new wing blend with the existing building. Teney said the expansion is in design development and is expected to complete in the summer of 2028 for a fall 2028 opening.
She described interior changes — an internal stair to improve flow and security, additional restrooms and storage, and classroom sizes similar to existing classrooms — and site refinements to add two queuing lanes for drop-off, added parking and a developer-funded turn lane on Tehale Boulevard to ease pickup and drop-off congestion. Teney said the next presentation will contain further refinements and more detailed drawings.
