Council moves ARPA balances to pavement work and school HVAC automation upgrades

Council recommended reallocating $21,782.17 in town ARPA project balances to Pavement Management and $66,547.46 in BOE ARPA balances to districtwide building automation system upgrades for HVAC control at several schools.
On Dec. 5 the Avon Town Council recommended two transfers of ARPA funds to align remaining balances with current priorities.
The Council favorably recommended to the Board of Finance transferring $21,782.17 from several town ARPA projects into Pavement Management to address immediate road needs. The Council also recommended transferring $66,547.46 of BOE ARPA project balances to a new project to upgrade districtwide building automation systems that control HVAC at Avon High School, Roaring Brook School and Pine Grove School; the automation upgrade is intended to improve air-quality compliance and allow remote calibration of systems.
The Assistant Town Manager said these appropriations would cover the listed items and that the BOE might supplement with operating funds if additional work is required. Council voted in favor of both recommendations.
