Council approves $81,792 purchase to replace obsolete fire‑station air compressor

The fire representative said the quote for a new, fully specified compressor is $81,791.75 and includes a five‑year warranty. ‘‘We get a 5 year warranty,’’ the chief said. Council member 24 moved to approve the purchase as presented; the motion was seconded and carried unanimously. Staff said the replacement will restore in‑city fill capability and reduce operational and safety risk while staff will seek to finalize procurement and warranty documents.
