The Euclid planning director reported on recently completed and ongoing projects, opening with the preservation of Upland Sims Park, an approximately 5.6-acre parcel that the city preserved rather than develop.
"This project represents an investment of almost $725,000 to preserve this approximately 5.6 acre parcel of land," the director said, noting the Nov. 15 celebration included Mayor Holzheimer Gayle, County Executive Ronain, State Senator Smith and State Representative Synnenberg. The director described the site as a quiet park space with views of the lake and a link to the Euclid Lakefront Trail.
The director positioned the project as part of a multi-year effort to preserve green space and connect neighborhoods with the lakefront, and said residents and community stakeholders provided positive feedback at the opening event. The department said the annual report covering these accomplishments will be released early next year.
