The Lancaster County Planning Commission voted unanimously on March 17 to recommend approval of rezoning case RZ20252735, a request to change a parcel at 1553 Pageland Highway from General Business to Low Density Residential so the owner may place a storage shed.
Planning staff told commissioners the property is a nonconforming residential use within a commercial zoning district and that rezoning to Low Density Residential would allow a modest expansion needed to permit the shed. Planning staff (transcript label 10) summarized the application and the use chart, saying that LDR is permissible for the site and that approval would allow the owner to secure the permit needed to proceed. No members of the public signed up to speak on the item. Commissioners moved and the motion to recommend approval passed by voice/hand vote 4–0; the case will be referred to county council for a final decision.
