During audience input, resident Stephen Ruhain asked for more details about an item he suspected referenced a relocation of the city’s service center in legislation being considered that night. "Does the grant money cover all the costs associated with the property and the redesign and also whatever environmental impact will come from...removing the facility?" Ruhain asked. Council members replied that some details remain limited because of ongoing negotiations but said they raised the questions in a recent executive session and would follow up.
Later in the public session, John Streitel urged the city to install a temporary patch on the museum cabin’s roof where slates are loosening, saying existing damage is causing rot and additional structural harm if not addressed. The service director responded that two long-standing leaks and widespread roof deterioration require assembling a proper contract to perform full repairs rather than piecemeal patches, noting prior temporary patches had not held.
City staff and council invited further questions at the microphone and acknowledged the need to provide clearer timelines and cost breakdowns when available.
