Library team: building largely finished; ribbon-cutting tentatively set for Oct. 17

Library staff updated the board that most interior work is done: upstairs carpet and finishes are in place, appliances have been delivered and the fire-suppression system needs to be tested with the stove before officials can issue a certificate of occupancy. Staff noted additional vendor scheduling (lighting company training and final system programming) is outstanding and may affect an opening timeline.
Crystal, speaking for the library project, said, “We're looking at a grand opening, like, ribbon cutting on October 17.” The board heard that a $4,000 earlier grant used for a building evaluation has been closed out and that final reports and audit uploads are being completed; staff expect a site visit by auditors in mid to late September. The board encouraged staff to continue coordinating inspections and vendor training so the library can open when safe and compliant.
