Selectboard appoints two to library board; occupancy delayed by back-ordered stove

At the library update, Crystal Meyer reported two library-board vacancies after a staff hire and asked the board to appoint Mackenzie Floyd and Linda Hurcombe to fill the seats until the next town meeting. The board moved, seconded and approved both appointments; the clerk will notify appointees to complete the paperwork.
Meyer also updated the board on construction and fundraising. She said final inspection and a certificate of occupancy are delayed because a required stove is back-ordered until the end of July; the library team is completing interior finish work and waiting for concrete and final electrician connections. On fundraising, she reported, "Currently, we're at about we're just shy of a 129,000," toward a $284,000 goal over three years and outlined an every-door mail piece followed by a social-media push and a planned late-August moving weekend and a fall grand opening.
Board members voted to accept the resignation of Sonia Humphreys from the library board, thanked her service, and confirmed the two interim appointments. The board asked staff to ensure appointees complete required forms and directed library staff to keep the board informed about any changes to the occupancy timetable.
