The House recognized a number of guests in the gallery, asking members to welcome student visitors and vocational groups.
Representative Meyer introduced dental hygiene students from community colleges across Iowa and invited members to meet them at a short program in the Rotunda. Earlier, the presiding officer announced that Anaya Green and Samar Samar Carr, students from Lincoln Intermediate School in Mason City, would lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
Representative Srinivas introduced Brooklyn Sedlock, a junior with interest in pediatric oncology who is working on a Girl Scout Gold Award related to pediatric cancer research funding. Members applauded the guests and recognition remarks were brief and ceremonial.
