Whitehouse staff to absorb duties after clerk departure; Council discusses parking, parade and summer hours

Councilwoman Louann Artiaga asked about filling Nicole Hartbarger's former position. Administrator Jordan Daugherty said he has been meeting with staff and absorbing much of the work in the interim, and is collecting assessments about staff needs and wants. "Currently not a given that the Deputy Administrator position will be replaced," Daugherty said; the role "could morph into a new position" and staff will report back after more feedback.
Other operational items on the agenda included parade logistics—Daugherty asked participants to "Arrive around 11:55am, candy will be provided and has already been purchased, bring a chair to sit on"—and an update that the resident survey is nearly ready with a mayoral introduction incorporated. Daugherty said staff will move to summer hours, closing the municipal building at noon on Fridays through Labor Day. Council also discussed downtown parking shortages near the four‑way stop by Crust and Adventure Distilling; Daugherty said the Village has considered purchasing a building behind Crust and recommended reviewing existing parking signage.
No staffing hires or property purchases were authorized at the meeting; Council asked for further assessment and will await staff recommendations.
