Planning and Zoning approves several residential variances; conditional-use list updated

Planning and Zoning reported to council that commissioners reviewed three residential variance requests and several conditional-use matters at their March meeting. The commission approved a variance for a proposed shed at 592 Rutland and, after revisions, approved three variances for a garage and driveway at 5868 Highland Road. A variance for a proposed garage addition at 445 Sandhurst was not approved.
The commission also reviewed the conditional-use permit list and identified seven businesses with expired permits; three of those businesses have moved, closed or reopened and will need to submit new applications. Building Commissioner Perno told council he is working with applicants and architects on several large renovation projects and will later seek Council direction on stipulations for a conditional-use permit for Sky Zone.
