Senators welcome REVA AmeriCorps members and Iowa LEND trainees to the Capitol

Senator Jerome Garriott introduced 20 REVA AmeriCorps members visiting the Capitol and said REVA has helped build more than 10,000 Iowans since 2015, with 24 members serving at seven sites and support for more than 700 clients. Senator Donahue introduced visitors from the Iowa LEND program at the University of Iowa’s Center for Disabilities and Development, explaining that LEND trains multidisciplinary trainees to increase workforce capacity to improve care for people with neurodevelopmental and related disabilities across the lifespan. Both introductions were ceremonial and intended to raise awareness of workforce and service programs; no formal legislation was advanced in these remarks.
