Swim team parents report roster issues; board to revise bylaws and add job descriptions

Sherry Petrakis, representing swim team parents, presented a report that included recommended bylaw revisions. The board received the suggested changes and Brian Lang requested that the Swim Meet and Dive Meet Director job descriptions be added back into the report for final approval. Sherry said she will update the report with those job descriptions and return it for approval.
Sherry reported that of 80 registrants, 65 tried out for the team; she noted that resignations of new team members proceeded smoothly but returning team members caused delays because of incomplete paperwork. She also told the board that swim meets had a rough start due to equipment malfunctions and incorrect roster entry and suggested "additional sets of eyes" to review roster accuracy going forward.
The proposed bylaw language includes a limit that officers will serve no more than four consecutive years and eliminates paper absentee ballots going forward; the board did not adopt bylaw changes at the June meeting but will consider the revised report after Sherry adds the requested job descriptions.
