Board advances 100th-anniversary plans: video interviews, scavenger hunt, and Lear Wading Pool naming

Rebecca "Becki" Masters, reporting for the 100th Anniversary Committee, outlined multiple event and fundraising elements for the pool's centennial. She said interviews for a commemorative video will be held August 31 at the pool; a scavenger hunt currently includes 16 participating businesses; tile sales are progressing with outreach planned to former swimmers; and T-shirt designs will be reviewed.
The committee plans two "Dive-in" movie nights (one adult, one children's) during the 2027 season, will produce signage showing the names of each pool, and has proposed naming the wading pool the Lear Wading Pool. An opening day ceremony is scheduled for Memorial Day 2027. Drew Sterner will work with Becki to include landscaping and area-improvement costs for the celebration in the 2027 budget.
The committee will seek additional sponsorships and will finalize event details ahead of the 2027 season.
