City administrator says Horton recreation fields nearing completion, ribbon cutting targeted by end of May

City Administrator Bronson told council staff are "making good progress" on the Horton Outdoor Recreation fields, including a concession stand and bathrooms that must be open prior to a formal ribbon cutting. "My hope is that we will do that no later than the end of May," Bronson said, while stressing the need for a certificate of occupancy and final monument signage.
Bronson also said Oconee County donated rock to create additional gravel parking and that staff were coordinating with county contacts and local volunteers to finish ancillary tasks. Councilors raised minor operational questions about parking geometry and electrical outlets and asked staff to pursue small adjustments before the grand opening.
