The Bardstown City Council voted to approve a road-closure request from the Buttermilk Festival Committee for Buttermilk Days, scheduled Aug. 27–29, 2026. Councilman David Dones made the motion, which Councilman Joe Buckman seconded; the motion carried 5-0.
Council also approved a $3,500 donation requested by Kevin Rogers to support the event. Councilwoman Betty Hart moved the donation; Councilman Roland E. Williams seconded and the motion carried 5-0. The council discussed event planning in conjunction with public-safety preparations already underway for the festival and the calendar for National Night Out.
