Council hears committee updates: streets work, charter review moved, planning hearings set

Council member reports on May 6 covered several routine administrative items. Mr. Bill Neyer said that new street signs were installed downtown, light poles were painted, and the New Haven Road overpass was resurfaced. Mr. Edward Whitt announced the Charter Review committee meeting has been moved to May 11 at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Tanner Dole summarized the Tech and Media committee and said a public hearing on the Comprehensive Plan will be held May 12 at 7:00 p.m.; the Planning Commission will meet May 12 at 7:30 p.m.
Mrs. Jean Wilson provided veteran-related updates: the 2026 hometown military banner application is online at www.harrison.gov with a $45 fee payable to Frontier Signs and a June 8 deadline; she also noted the Hamilton County Veteran Service Commission grand opening at its new location on May 13 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
