Board hears which hospitals would be in centers-of-excellence network

A presenter named several national specialty centers: "Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Sloan Care, MD Anderson, Ochsner, all the top hospitals. There's total of 98 hospitals in the in the COE." He and other presenters clarified that the choice of referral depends on the condition—for example, Mayo Clinic for cancers and Sloan for orthopedics.
Presenters also said many large systems operate satellite clinics that the district could use, and they emphasized that participation in the COE and the second-opinion network is voluntary for employees. The presenters described an intent to operate the second-opinion network "virtual first" and to teach other providers what the COE clinicians observe.
