As Dr. Chamberlain reported, "we currently have 34.17% of our students meeting or exceeding the standards in English language arts," reflecting about a 2 percent increase over the prior year. She also noted that chronic absenteeism continued to decline, reporting, "we only we only have 27% of our students chronically absent," and explained the district will use interim assessments (IABs) and local benchmarks to guide instruction. Trustees asked for further breakdowns (dual enrollment and local summer assessment data) and staff agreed to return with supplemental data to the education subcommittee.
