The board discussed and approved a three-year contract with PowerSchool to support the efficiency of the district human-resources office and to help the district implement changes in hiring practices required by new legislation.
Superintendent Dr. Eric Sahakian and staff reintroduced the contract and explained the recommendation was to approve the three-year agreement as listed in the agenda with the first partial-year cost and subsequent year breakdowns attached to the proposal. Staff said the platform will help centralize recruiting, reduce reliance on paper files, and better align applicant screening with updated policy requirements. Trustees asked about budget impact and whether vendor representatives needed to answer detailed questions; staff said the item is within the adopted budget. After discussion, the board moved and approved the contract item.
Staff noted the contract covers implementation from Jan. 1 through June 30, 2028 (multi-year term) and that the first partial-year cost and full-year breakdowns are included in the agreement materials on BoardDocs. Trustees recorded voice votes in support of moving the item forward.
