Brianna Taxoni was elected board president at the Acton-Agua Dulce Unified School District board meeting on Dec. 11 after a nomination and roll-call vote. Taxoni accepted the nomination and trustees recorded the approval with one member absent.
The board also nominated and approved Bill Mays as vice president and named George de Jesus clerk (de Jesus was absent but had previously indicated his willingness to serve). The board voted to designate Superintendent Dr. Eric Sahakian to act as board secretary. "Thank you very much. I am I'm excited," Taxoni said after her appointment, expressing appreciation for the trustees' support.
The reorganization was bundled with routine housekeeping resolutions, including a certification-of-signatures resolution the board adopted as part of standard annual procedures. Trustees then moved on to regular business, including committee reports and presentations scheduled for the evening.
