The council's work session on Dec. 4 included several remote participants and one interview was slowed by technical trouble admitting a Teams caller.
The chair and staff acknowledged the problem and improvised by passing a phone to a council member so the applicant could be heard. As the session proceeded the chair reminded the room: “this is a public meeting and it's being recorded and will be available online,” and thanked applicants for their flexibility in using phone or virtual audio to complete interviews.
Councilors and staff treated the interruption as procedural and completed the interview; multiple members asked that the city secretary follow up with remote applicants and confirm packet receipt and appointment timelines.
