The board considered revisions to policy FDA (local) on interdistrict transfers and approved the policy on first reading. Deputy Superintendent Celinda Freeman explained the change extends the transfer window for out‑of‑district students to provide additional stability for families, including children of teachers and employees.
Trustee Elise Klein moved to approve the policy on first reading and Trustee Tara Lance seconded. The motion passed unanimously. Trustees discussed that the policy can support staff recruitment and retention by allowing some employees to keep their children in district schools when living outside district boundaries.
