Steve Ewing, chief of business operations, and Plano Senior High Principal Kenitra Robertson gave trustees a detailed transition plan for the school’s renovation. The district will use Building H (the former Haggard Middle School) as a temporary campus for academic classrooms, administration, counseling and the early-learning center while major renovations proceed. Ewing said the project’s full completion is scheduled for 2029 and described staging, portables and circulation plans.
Principal Kenitra Robertson emphasized staff and student preparations and communications, including a renovation webpage, parent letters and parent meetings. Robertson framed the move pragmatically: "the renovation is not being done to us, it's being done for us," and described steps to minimize disruption — a connected walkway between sites, shuttles during transition times, and a bell schedule designed to reduce student movement. Trustees praised staff coordination and student engagement during packing and transition planning.
