Staff: new OGO program complicates FY25–FY26 comparisons; outreach raised individual applications

Jo-Ann Davis asked about the change in applications from FY25 to FY26. Jen Lawless explained that comparing years is difficult because FY26 includes both the new Organizational Grants for Organizations (OGO) program and the legacy Cultural Investment Portfolio (CIP) in the data; many new applications were for OGO.
David Slatery and Co-Chair Cecil Barron Jensen said outreach efforts since the pandemic have led to higher numbers of individual applicants than in earlier years. Lawless added staff expects a further increase in FY27 as artists who received grants in FY23 become eligible again and said staff will try to show in reporting how organization awards translate into direct artist hiring and opportunities.
