Council accepts $30,000 offer on vacant Harding lot, defers commercial offers for highest-and-best

Council approved a $30,000 purchase offer for vacant lot 5128 Harding after staff confirmed the lot had been on the market for more than 45 days and the highest offer on record was $30,000. Council then instructed administration to run a highest-and-best rebid process for the Unalbert/Anarbor Trail commercial property after one offer was rescinded and another was revised; the council set a deadline for highest-and-best resubmissions by the next Monday (Aug. 3).

Council amended the motion to authorize the administration and the mayor or city clerk to take necessary actions to close transactions so that final closings need not return to the council for ministerial signature. "Approve Harding offer, taking another trail to highest and best," the motion summary recorded; the motion carried unanimously.
