Forestry and Parks schedules workshops, invasive-species plan and infrastructure work

Department staff outlined several near-term activities: a Natural Resources Foundation tour on May 7 led by Sara and foresters, and a green tree retention workshop on June 9 led by Mike and Jeremiah in partnership with the DNR, Ruffed Grouse Society and American Woodcock Society. Staff said they had hired Eco North to do an invasive species assessment and management plan for the Siskiwit Falls Preserve and that Jason Fischbach will assist with a management plan for the preserve orchard.
Staff also reported they have been updating park concept plans with SAS+Associates for Big Rock, Fire Hill and Topside Lake, working with a local bridge inspector on trestle bridge procurement options, and that April was a slow month for yurt bookings. The committee acknowledged the monthly reports and placed them on file.
