County Attorney Steve Hadfield told the commission there were two opioid settlement documents that needed approval and that one—relating to Purdue—had a fast-approaching deadline. "There's 2 settlements with the opioid that need to be approved," Hadfield said.
Commissioner Vincent moved to approve the Purdue agreement and to allow Commissioner Perry to sign the document electronically; Commissioner Perry seconded the motion. The commission voted 'Aye' and the motion carried. The county attorney said the Purdue document must be returned by September 30 and the signature authorization was intended to meet that deadline.
