County Manager Jason Burns described the site plan, which includes a 75-by-80-foot building with classrooms and restrooms, covered modular shooting lanes, parking and utilities. Burns noted a legislative appropriation amendment was pending and that construction must be completed by June 2027 under the grant schedule.
Commissioner Mikel Chavez asked about classroom size; Burns said the plan envisions seating for 200 at tables (or 300 seats without tables). The motion to approve the project location passed unanimously with direction to proceed consistent with grant timing and deliverables.
