Parks and Recreation committee reported that the designated smoking area at the aquatic center will be removed and the village will revert to its parks rules prohibiting smoking on village property.
"The committee confirmed that the designated smoking area should be removed," the speaker announced, adding that patrons may return to enclosed motor vehicles to smoke or otherwise leave village property. The change is intended to align committee practice with the village's existing rules and will be noticed publicly before enforcement adjustments.
Council did not take separate legislative action at the meeting; staff said the update would be publicized so pool patrons and park users are aware of the change in behavior expectations.
