Behavioral Health staff report low SUD demand, say RtCM jail program progressing

Duncan Cruickshank, Behavioral Health staff, told the advisory board that substance‑use disorder (SUD) numbers are currently low both nationally and locally and that people seeking treatment are sometimes opting for in‑patient services at other facilities. Cruickshank added that the RtCM (Rapid‑to‑Care Management or similar local program name as listed) jail program is operating successfully and that HHS values the partnership with the Wahkiakum County Sheriff’s Department.
No changes to Behavioral Health staffing or funding were announced at the meeting; Cruickshank said the program is going well but also noted that Behavioral Health’s financial status “is staying afloat” and could change.
