Director Matt Swanson introduced Bob Wachtel as a new Henry County ETSB board representative and told members he had received a resignation letter from Gene Karzin, who accepted the position of police chief with the city of Silvis. Chief Disterhoft recommended Jessica Damewood as a potential replacement for Karzin, but after discussion the board decided to advertise the opening publicly.
The board agreed by consensus to post notice of the vacancy on the Henry County and OEM websites and invited interested parties to submit letters of interest; letters will be reviewed at the next meeting and a candidate selected to be forwarded to the County Board for approval.
