Wadsworth accelerates fiber material purchases as 5,300 homes become service-ready

"With all the BEAD money starting to come into the marketplace, we're expecting both lead times on products and materials to increase, and we'd like to get ahead of that," Testa said, urging Council to suspend rules and call the ordinance so staff can place orders and avoid longer lead times. Council agreed to suspend and call the ordinance and assigned it number 26-034.
The purchase is intended to speed splicing and activations and reduce risk of supply delays as federal and state broadband funding enters the market.
