Torrance County commissioners approve routine contracts, hazard plan update and DWI enforcement MOU

The Torrance County Board of Commissioners approved several routine finance and contract items at its Oct. 23 meeting.
The board approved payables by roll-call vote. Chief Deputy Clerk Sylvia Chavez presented a one-year service contract with Terralogic Document Systems for microfilm and microfiche scanner maintenance in the amount of $846; the board approved it. Chief Procurement Officer Kristin Saavedra said an evaluation committee selected Bold Planning, LLC as the top-ranked proposer for updating the county's 2017 Hazard Mitigation Plan; the contract award is $74,040 and covers Torrance County and several municipalities. The board approved that award.
Deputy County Manager Misty Witt asked the board to approve a prior-year storage invoice of $505.17 to Iron Mountain; that payment was approved. The DWI program coordinator, Deanna Lopez, presented an MOU with the Town of Estancia enabling directed DWI enforcement using county grant funds to pay overtime for police; the board approved the MOU. Each action passed on roll-call votes with Chairman Ryan Schwebach absent.
