Administrator Oliva presented a comprehensive update on the city’s capital outlay and infrastructure needs at the Yutan City Council’s special budget workshop on July 21, 2026. The presentation outlined ongoing and proposed projects across departments and offered a multi-department list for council consideration.
Key items Oliva identified included flooring and shelving updates for the library; in-cruiser technology upgrades for the Police Department; stormwater drainage improvements; upgrades to the city maintenance shop; and potential lagoon storage for the Utilities/Maintenance Department. The list was presented as proposed future projects to be considered for inclusion in the capital outlay plan.
Mayor Matt Thompson and council members engaged with the list but took no formal action to adopt specific expenditures at the July 21 session. Councilmembers indicated they expected additional review as part of subsequent budget workshops and a second budget workshop scheduled for Aug. 11, 2026.
