Board approves NMSBA Policy Advisories revising employee medical-exam language and public-records guidance

Jacob Green moved to approve Policy Service Advisory #273 (GBGC Employee Assistance) and #274 (KDB Public's Right to Know) as presented (Motion 112-2526); William Lewis seconded and the motion carried.
Advisory #273 modifies employee-medical-examination language to require a medical examination only when the district has a reasonable belief, based on objective evidence, that an employee may be unable to perform essential job functions or may pose a direct threat, and specifies that a licensed health care provider can conduct the examination. Advisory #274 updates the district's public-records notice, directs the records custodian to post the notice on the district website and at administrative offices, and advises determining a reasonable per-page copying charge in compliance with the Inspection of Public Records Act.
