Comptroller Tony Tracy gave an introductory review of the multi-year capital plan, noting the document lists project priorities, funding status and preliminary estimates and must be approved by July 1. She highlighted major building projects that are included as estimates: court building renovations (estimated $7,000,000), neighborhood-center renovations (~$5,000,000), youth bureau renovations (~$7,000,000), an updated Depew Park pool project ($12,000,000) and an estimated $35,000,000 highway garage. Tracy said these are planning estimates and staff will pursue grant and bonding options to spread costs over time.
Tracy also reviewed infrastructure projects, including a Lower South Street sewer infrastructure item for which the city match was listed at $11,750,000 and multiple storm-drain and street-channel priorities. Councilors asked clarifying questions about apparent duplicate line items for the youth bureau and about timing for grant eligibility; Tracy said staff will correct duplicates and return with refined figures and project descriptions before formal action.
