"Cheri informed everyone that Under Sheriff-Chris Chapman will retire at the end of February 2026 and his retirement celebration will be held on February 20, 2026, from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm, at the Colfax Golf Course," the minutes say.
The announcement included the date, time and location for a public retirement event. No other personnel actions related to the Under Sheriff position were recorded in the meeting minutes; the commission did not take formal action on a replacement during the Jan. 26 meeting.
