The general government subcommittee prioritized broadband expansion to serve unconnected rural areas; the commissioner noted the need for Starlink access at emergency operations centers after communications failures during the storm.
Health-and-human-services priorities included more resources for adult protective services, seniors and foster care, and the justice/public-safety breakout recommended seeking state funding for medical, mental-health and substance-use services for people held in local detention centers. The commissioner framed these goals as efforts to reclaim local capacity and funding from state and federal mandates.
