The Haywood County Board of Commissioners unanimously authorized the county manager to sign contract documents enabling a sole-source purchase of a VRF replacement system from Trane for the Haywood County Historic Courthouse.
Facilities Director Tim Sisk told the board Trane became the only authorized dealer for the Mitsubishi equipment specified for the courthouse work and cited North Carolina General Statute 143-129(e)(6) as the applicable exception allowing single-source procurement for standardized equipment. The board moved to authorize the purchase and approved the measure by voice vote.
