The Acton-Agua Dulce Unified School District received a new charter petition for Da Vinci RISE during its Feb. 26 special meeting. Shay Patterson, the district's Director of Charter Services, introduced the submission and identified the petitioners and presenters to the board.
"My name is Shay Patterson. I'm the Director of Charter Services here for Acted Agua Dulce Unified School District," Patterson said, introducing the team. Aaron Whalen, who identified himself as "assistant superintendent of student services and founder of Da Vinci Rise High School," and Matthew Wonder, "superintendent of Da Vinci Schools," were present to submit the petition and thank the board for the opportunity to present. The petition was submitted and recorded on the meeting agenda for further review by district staff and the board.
